Staff Physical Therapist

Description:
Provide expertise in the treatment of physical therapy patients. The physical therapists at Close Physical Therapy are legally and ethically responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of all physical therapy treatment programs initiated in the clinic. This responsibility often includes instructing patients and their families and supervising physical therapist assistants, physical therapy technicians and aids, students, and other health workers in carrying out the program or selected portions of it. In planning the program of physical therapy, the physical therapist reviews the patient’s medical records, evaluates the patient and identifies the patient’s problem. Each patient will receive instructions in a home exercise treatment program, which will be complimentary to their outpatient program.

Prerequisites:

  • Graduate from a school accredited y the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
  • Eligible for membership in the American Physical Therapy Associates (APTA).
  • Must be eligible for Nevada state licensure through examination or reciprocity.
  • Maintain continuing education units (CEU’S) required for continued licensure in the State of Nevada. (Currently 1.5 CEU’S per year)
  • Show evidence of good physical and emotional well being and maturity.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Functions as a participating team member who contributes to the total health care of a patient.
  • Assists in performing assigned management procedures.
  • Performs assigned supervisory tasks and responsibilities.
  • Assists in supervising all assigned research and education projects within the clinic.
  • Performs patient evaluation and testing.
  • Supervise all assigned patient management, treatment and care.
  • Assist in assigned supervision of supportive staff.
  • Evaluate and regularly re-evaluate patient’s responses and progress and adjust patient’s program accordingly.
  • Supervise and assists in the work of supportive personnel as necessary (i.e., phone assistance, exercise room supervision, patients) to rooms, laundry etc.

Home Health Physical Therapist

Description:
Provide expertise in the treatment of physical therapy patients. This responsibility often includes instructing patients and their families and supervising physical therapist assistants, physical therapy technicians and aids, students, and other health workers in carrying out the program or selected portions of it. Each patient will receive instructions in a home exercise treatment program, which will be complimentary to their outpatient program.

  • Outgoing personality and ability to provide empathetic caring for each patient.
  • CPR certified.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Functions as a participating team member who contributes to the total health care of a patient.
  • Has an understanding and knowledge regarding the total aspect of a patient’s illness or injury and has the ability to assess the needs of the patient and plan physical therapy accordingly.
  • Formulates realistic treatment plans and works with patients on an individual basis. The plan shall include the type, amount, frequency and duration of the physical therapy program that is to be provided including the diagnosis and anticipating goals.
  • Evaluate and regularly re-evaluate patient’s responses and progress and adjust patient’s program accordingly.
  • Assist patient in preparation for, during and at the conclusion of the treatment.
  • Takes the necessary equipment and accessories for each treatment. At the conclusion of the treatment to the clinic and place them in the proper location.
  • Consults with the physician, other therapists, medical staff, patients and other interested persons regarding physical therapy treatment objectives, with an emphasis on quality care and upon discharge planning and home treatment program planning.
  • Assists in the in-service training programs for agency personnel, supportive personnel and staff personnel as needs arise.
  • Implement special treatment programs upon request from other clinics, hospitals, and/or physicians as approved by President.
  • Completes all documentation on a timely basis for the clinic and home health agencies.
  • Attends case management meetings for each patient as requested by agency or President of the clinic.
  • Fulfill the duties of a “staff” physical therapist as requested and deemed necessary by the president.

Physical Therapist Assistant

Description:
Perform all duties and responsibilities with the direction and supervision of a physical therapist. The assistant’s function is to assist the physical therapist in patient related activities, to perform such procedures delegated to him/her that are commensurate with his/her education/ training. He/She carries out designated tasks that are required for the operation of the service. The extent, to which the physical therapist assistant will participate, will be dependent upon the needs of the individual patient as determined by the supervising physical therapist.

Prerequisites:

  • Graduate from a school accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
  • Eligible for membership in the American Physical Therapy Associates.
  • Must be eligible for Nevada state licensure through examination or reciprocity.
  • Maintain continuing education units (CEU’S) required for continued licensure in the State of Nevada.
  • Show evidence of good physical and emotional well-being and maturity.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Functions as a participating team member who contributes to the total health care of the patients.
  • Assists the physical therapist ion carrying out the identified procedures and programs for each patient.
  • Perform routine treatment procedures in accordance with the planned program and/or protocol.
  • Observes records and reports to his/her supervisor conditions, reactions and responses related to his/her assigned duties with patients.
  • Assist patients in preparation for, during and at the conclusion of treatments.
  • Assemble and prepare equipment and accessories for treatment, likewise, disassemble, clean and put away in their proper location all equipment at the conclusion of treatment.
  • Supervise and assist in the work of all other supportive personnel i.e.; exercise room supervision, patient to rooms, laundry and phone assistance.
  • Running errands as requested by the President, CEO, or Clinic Director professional staff related to the smooth operation of the clinic preparing, maintaining and cleaning treatment areas, changing sheets, and disposing of linen for cleaning after use with each patient.
  • Wash, dry, fold and stock all laundry.
  • Perform treatment procedures predetermined for a patient by and under the direct supervision of the physical therapist.
  • Directs as necessary for the smooth operation of the clinic.
  • Maintain supportive areas, waiting room, hydrotherapy room, equipment storage area, cupboards, etc.
  • Maintain proper care and cleanliness/ sanitation of all hydrotherapy areas.
  • Advise supervisor directors of breakdown, malfunction, or the general need to repair of any and all equipment used in performing assigned duties to ensure the smooth operation and function of the clinic.
  • Inform the office manager of low supply on any and all supplies needed to ensure for the smooth operation of the clinic.
  • Assisting patients to and from their rooms.
  • Assist patients in preparation for, during and at the conclusion of treatment, where time allows and as requested by clinical staff member.
  • Assemble and prepare equipment and accessories in preparation for treatment; disassemble at conclusion, when time allows and as requested by clinical staff member.
  • Perform treatment procedures predetermined for a patient by and under the direct supervision of the physical therapist.
  • Directs as necessary for the smooth operation of the clinic.
  • Orients therapists, medical staff and other interested persons in ongoing projects and programs within the clinics, as assigned by the President or his designee.
  • Assists in the planning and administration of special diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint and functional ability tests.
  • Assists in the planning of special treatment programs according to test results and in conjunction with home situations.
  • Consults with the physician, other therapists, and other health care services as to the progress of the patient that will enable the planning of realistic goals and home treatment program planning.
  • Assists in the in-service training programs for agency personnel, supportive personnel and staff personnel as needs arise.
  • Assists in the supervision of students in techniques and procedures used in this clinic.
  • Implements special treatment programs upon request from other clinics, hospitals, and/or physicians as approved by President, CEO and/or Clinic Director.

Massage Therapist

Description:
Function as a participating member of the team who contributes to total patient care and to perform designated tasks related to the operational services under the supervision and guidance of the CEO and Clinic Director.

Prerequisites:

  • Obtain massage therapy license from the Nevada State Board of Massage Therapy.
  • Age 21 years minimum.
  • Health status: excellent, with good physical stamina and maturity.
  • Education and experience: high school graduate, moderate clerical skills and experience desirable; previous physical therapy experience preferred.
  • Personal qualification: neat, well groomed, conscientious, dependable, caring of patients need and able to communicate with patients by being empathetic and understanding of patient’s needs.
