Jack D. Close, PT, MA, FAPTA
Jack D. Close is the President/CEO of our company. Jack has provided physical therapy in the Las Vegas area since 1970 when he first worked as a physical and respiratory therapist at Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital, which is now called UMC. After one year at SNMH, he initiated his first business, Advanced Physical Therapy and Respiratory Therapy Services, which provided rehabilitative services at two convalescent hospitals (Beverly Manor and Vegas Valley Convalescent Hospitals) and he was the first physical therapist at Desert Springs Hospital. He later concentrated his efforts only at Desert Springs Hospital until 1983 when he left to open the Las Vegas Institute of Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine. He served as President/Director of this company until January 1, 1996, when he created Jack D. Close & Associates.
Jack moved to Las Vegas with his family in 1948, is a product of the Clark County School District, and is a graduate of Las Vegas High School. After high school, he completed his military responsibility in the Army Reserve, then attended Brigham Young University for his undergraduate education (B.S. in Zoology), and later attended the University of Southern California where he received his Master's degree in Physical Therapy.
Jack is married to his "childhood sweetheart" Gaye. They have four grown children and 15 grandchildren. He enjoys the opportunity to be with his family, loves "classic" cars and travel. Jack has been actively involved in his profession and the community throughout his professional life. He served as the last elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees of SNMH, Vice-Chairman of the Paradise Town Board, and two terms as an Assemblyman in the Nevada Legislature. He has also served as Chairman of the Nevada State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, and is currently the Secretary/Treasurer of this State Board, as well as having served as Vice-President/Director of the American Physical Therapy Association. He has received many awards and recognitions locally and nationally for his service including being the only elected Fellow of his professional association in the State of Nevada, the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America, and is listed in the Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who Among Outstanding Business Executives, and Outstanding Men in Southern Nevada.
Justin Himori, DPT
Justin was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and resided there for many years. Justin attended Missouri Valley College where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training and Exercise Science. Justin continued his education at University of Missouri-Columbia; where he received his doctorate in physical therapy in May 2011. Justin is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Athletic Trainer's Association.
Justin's clinical experience is in outpatient physical therapy. Justin has studied in the following areas; Orthopedic, Pediatric, Vestibular and Neurological physical therapy. Justin has also studied in stroke rehabilitation, total joint replacement rehabilitation and general strengthening.
Justin moved to Las Vegas in May 2011 after completing his doctorate of physical therapy and began working for Close Physical Therapy. Justin chose to move to Las Vegas to be near his family and friends.
